Hyacks Football Banquet - December 5
The Hyacks Football awards banquet for all teams (high school and youth) will take place on Friday, December 5 at the Westminster Regiment Armoury (6th St and Queens Ave). Tickets will not be available at the door, and very few (if any) are left. Please contact Marilyn Davis at the NWSS Sigma office (604-517-6292) to inquire about getting your tickets. A reminder that it will be chilly in the Armouries, so please dress warmly and accordingly for this semi-formal event!

Hyacks fall to Ravens in BC 'AAA' Semi-Final Playoff
The varsity Hyacks were defeated by the #1-ranked (and eventual champion) Terry Fox Ravens on November 22. New Westminster could not contain the high-powered Terry Fox offense, nor make much headway against a stout defense, falling by a score of 56-15. This was the Hyacks' second consecutive trip to the BC semi-finals, losing both times to the eventual champions.

New Westminster defeats STM in BC Quarter-Final Playoff
The varsity Hyacks took another step to the Subway Bowl with a convincing 56-25 victory over STM in the provincial AAA quarter finals on Nov 14 at Mercer Stadium. The rain didn’t keep a big crowd from showing up, nor did it slow down the vaunted Hyacks offense from racking up 513 yards of offense and 8 TDs. The win puts New Westminster in the BC AAA semi-finals for the second consecutive year. The Hyacks will be playing the #1-ranked Terry Fox Ravens on Saturday night at 8:00 pm at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex.

Hyacks wrap up regular season with win over Eagles
The Hyacks concluded the regular season with their 4th straight win, 57-33 over Carson Graham, on Oct. 31 in North Vancouver. The 57 points scored ties a schools record for scoring in a single game. The Hyacks also shattered the school’s rushing record with 511 yards along the ground.

Hyacks clinch playoff berth with win over Jugglers
The Hyacks picked up their 3rd straight win this past Friday, a 31-21 victory over Notre Dame at Burnaby Lake. As a result, New West clinched 2nd place in the Western Conference and a first round bye in the AAA playoffs. The win improves the Hyacks record to 3-1 in league play (6-2 overall). They remain 4th in the provincial rankings. Since resurrecting the football program in 2003, the Hyacks have now reached the post-season for the 5th time in 6 years (3rd time in 4 years at the AAA level).
