Coach Leslie is entering his 13th year of coaching football, his second with the youth program. He previously served as the defensive coordinator for the varsity program from 2003 to 2006. He began coaching in 1996 within the North Surrey Minor Football system, spending the 2000 season as a head coach at the midget level. He then served as defensive co-ordinator for two years with the Tri-City Bulldogs (BCFC), helping guide the team to the only two winning seasons in club history. Ryan is an NCCP Level III certified coach, and has coached at many camps in Canada and the USA. A product of the North Surrey Minor Football program, he played football at the University of British Columbia from 1994 to 1997, and was a member of the 1997 National Championship team. He served as a graduate assistant with the Thunderbirds in 1998 and graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Science degree. Coach Leslie works as a senior software engineer for Bluetide Management. He and his wife Amy, a New Westminster school teacher, live in the Glenbrook neighborhood of New Westminster.
